Grown up Disney fans it's time to get excited! The Disney Store just launched a new adult focused collection called "Forever Disney." This new curation features fashion and lifestyle goods and is now available at shopdisney.com and retail Disney stores. To celebrate the launch Disney Stores nationwide planned a Fan Thursdays event co-hosted by Forever Disney and Oh My Disney style blog. We know the Disney Store hosts many events, but this was the first that didn't seem kid focused so we really wanted to check it out. There was only space for 20 people so we made sure to RSVP right away. Last night we dressed in outfits inspired by some favorite characters and went to hang out with other Disney loving adults who think growing up is optional too!
The Event
When we arrived at the store there was a special area roped off for the event. We checked in with a couple Cast Members who were really nice and became our hosts for the evening. They offered us some beverages to drink and also handed out some sheets of Oh My Disney designed temporary tattoos. Once the whole group had arrived we did some Oh My Disney quizzes together and played some Disney trivia. There were also some Little Mermaid photo booth props and the cast members had a polaroid to take some cute pics.
Everyone was also given a set of mouse ears to customize. There was a craft table with ribbons, gems, flowers, etc. that you could use to decorate. At the end of the evening there was also a vote for the best dressed. Crazy enough, Julie ended up winning! She received a 50% off coupon to use on a new Oh My Disney item. While very tempted by another new purse, she ended up settling on a new Alice in Wonderland graphic tee. All in all it was a fun little event that brought a bit of Disney magic home. We would definitely check out another one soon! (If you are interested in an event like this make sure to sign up for emails from the Disney Store to be in the know!)
The Collection
There were many themes for this new collection including Alice in Wonderland, The Lion King, Snow White and more. There were items that coordinated together with tops, purses and jewelry. We also saw some fun items like mugs and journals. It actually seemed that our store wasn't big enough to hold everything and there are a lot more options online. We found so many fun things to buy that look stylish and give you that hit of nostalgia. We are excited to do some more shopping before our next Disney trip later this year. You can check out the whole collection for yourself at shopdisney.com.
We noticed in addition to the Oh My Disney items there seemed to be more adult housewares in the store too. We saw a lot of kitchen stuff and some entertaining ware like a cheeseboard, Mickey shaped ramekins and throw pillows. It seems that the Disney Store may be starting to trend back to more adult and collectible items, which we love!
